Yahoo messenger for web arrives

Today yahoo released a new version of messenger for web after a long delay.
url : http://webmessenger.yahoo.com or http://web.im

Well, what it offers?
- Current version allows ONLY text chat. meaning, you won’t be able to conference, chat, transfer files or share photos; or use webcams, Voice, IMvironments, LaunchCast Radio, PlugIns, or audibles.

- It allows to IM’ing behind firewalls

- No downloads, hopefully works with all browsers (Flash 9)

- Chat history stored on server, that is available from anywhere. even if you choose not to save your message history, users with whom you correspond may opt to use the functionality available in their version of Messenger to save the communications and your conversations may be saved on Yahoo! Servers, history can be deleted by selecting the message, this does not delete any of your conversations saved by other users

- Currently localized version available for
United States (English, Traditional Chinese), Brazil (Portuguese), India (English), Philippines (English), Malaysia (English), Vietnam (Vietnamese)

- User Interface is very nice, especially when you want to chat more friends, each one added as a tabbed panel.

- One can sign in either full version(desktop version) or web version. When I used web version, the desktop version automatically sighed out. There is an Ad placed at right side corner, its not disturbing much. Its popping up a ad.window. You cannot turn off the ad, move it, or make it smaller.

- Sooner I believe, ads will be displayed based on what user types in the conversation.

- Meebo, ebuddy already offers such service. Microsoft may release soon.

- beware of the setting, In the web version of Messenger, your image/avatar is on display, and your stealth settings and block list are also in effect. But you can’t modify these things. To make those adjustments, use the desktop version.
